Becoming a Physical Therapy Aide
Coming into this school year I wasn't sure sports medicine was the way to go. I swayed between CNA (certified nursing assistant) and Sports Medicine for a while but eventually decided on Sports Med because of its focus in orthopedics. The only reason I ever wanted to take CNA was because I wanted to be able to work in medicine while in college, the amazing thing now is that I can do that without even having to take the CNA class, and on top of that, the job I can have is even better for me than CNA.
Currently I am taking a physical therapist aide class, and at the end of this class I'll be able to actually go into the workplace and experience physical therapy, thankfully not from the patient side this time. I'm currently on unit 3 of the class and it's going great! The material is really cool and is talking about all sorts of things like communication with patients, anatomy and physiology, history of physical therapy, and much more. I'm hoping to get into the career field pretty soon after completing this class, and hopefully I'll find a job out in Arkansas as well, so I can enjoy my career while in college as well.
